Well, summer is over, kids are back in school, and until next June my wife and I are returning to this thing we call a “normal routine.” You see Sharon is a first grade teacher.
But weeks before Sharon’s routine begins and her tiny scholars arrive in the classroom, my wife is hard at work, refining lessons, honing her skills, and developing strategies that will furnish the minds and open the spirits of her students. You’d be amazed how much time dedicated teachers pour into preparing for their young charges.
As I listen to Sharon talk about her day and how challenging it is to get this large group of 6-year-olds to listen, to understand, and then tackle the task put before them, I can’t help but think of the infinite love and patience of our Heavenly Father. Knowing myself as I do and looking around at the world, I see an awful lot of the “6-year-old” in all of us.
In the middle of this year’s routine, I’ll be listening to the ever-patient, ever-loving voice of my Heaving Father speaking to His child.
