After breakfast we travel north to Florence en route visiting Siena, Tuscany’s most cherished and appealing medieval city. Upon arrival in Siena, attend Mass at St. Catherine’s Sanctuary. The Shrine of Saint Catherine occupies the site of Catherine’s family home, where she was born in 1347 and where she lived her austere early life as a Dominican affiliate. Afterwards tour the city center; seeing the Torre del Mangia a famous tower located in the city center, visit the Basilica of San Domenico and see the shrine of St. Catherine’s incorrupt head and finger in a gilt reliquary case on the altar. We then continue on to Florence.
