Ever felt like you’re in a “fight” with God? Sometimes I find myself upset with God. I question His plans and wonder why I’m facing the trials in front of me. It can be so lonely, isolating myself from the one person who promised to never leave. If you’ve never found yourself upset with Him, then I truly admire you. But if you have experienced what I’m talking about, I’m glad you decided to read this because I want to share my own revelation with you.
God never promised a perfect life. In fact, he warns that this narrow road we strive to follow will be harder than anything else we’ve faced. We are warned that the world will turn its back on us. But through these warnings, I remember my favorite line of Matthew West’s Broken things, “ It’s never the perfect; it’s always the one with scars that You use.” How true that statement is. I can’t think of one person within the Bible that never faced some sort of trial. It’s in these hard times, when we can truly feel God’s presence. My advice is when you feel yourself despairing over your current circumstance; take a minute to think how you can find God in that situation and how to show Him to others. Never fear the darkest moments and if you find yourself on the brink, remember Isaiah 41:13. “For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help.” What an encouraging image; God holding my right hand and promising to guide me through any and every trial I face.
