Help Lyle Howarth Rebuild after a fire

Over the weekend, Lyle Howarth was out with friends he had over from England for dinner when he returned home he was met with terrible devastating news his house was involved in a horrible 2 alarm fire that started at the construction site of the new house next door to his place.

Lyle has lived in his house for 40+ years and right now he is unable to return home whether or not the fire department will ever let him return home is yet to be known. This online fundraiser was set-up to help raise funds for Lyle to recover from this terrible tragedy.

Rachel's Ride for Rwanda

The Second Annual Rachel's Ride for Rwanda is a family-friendly cyclathon, created by 12-year-old Rachel Fitz, in support of the Wellspring Foundation for Education, taking place on July 4th at Derby Reach Regional Park. Wellspring is passionate about real life change in all members of the Wellspring community, as we show the love of Christ by empowering a new generation of leaders in Central and Eastern Africa and beyond. After living in Rwanda for three years, Rachel wanted to be able to make a difference in the lives of her Rwandan friends, and to have other kids do the same, so she created this bike ride for kids and their families to participate in. Last year, our riders raised over $5600 for our work! Riders are asked to fundraise $100 in support of Wellspring's work. Riders can register before May 15 for early bird pricing of $25/rider, or $75/family. For more information, or to register, check out our website at www.rachelsride.ca.

Battle for the Bible (Apologetics Symposium)

Seminar by Dr. Phil Fernandes

Description:
In the 1970’s, leading evangelical thinkers fought the first “battle for the Bible” in modern times. They argued against the idea that the Bible contains historical and scientific errors, and it only speaks truth in spiritual or moral issues. This led to the 1978 International Council on Biblical Inerrancy, which produced the “Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy.” The Evangelical Theological Society embraced the Chicago Statement & removed from their ranks any scholars who denied inerrancy. However, in recent years, some leading evangelical thinkers have invented new approaches to interpreting the Bible which allows these scholars to claim to hold to inerrancy (i.e., the Bible is totally without error in all that it teaches), yet deny several Gospel miracles by claiming they are just figurative speech or poetic devices and not genuine historical miracles.
