Creation Astronomy Class

Many modern astronomers have adopted a worldview that is in stark contrast to the Bible. Holding to a materialistic philosophy, they seek to explain the origin of the cosmos and the celestial bodies through purely natural processes. Creation astronomers, which includes many of the fathers of astronomy, such as Nicolas Copernicus and Sir Isaac Newton, look to the Word of God for special understanding. This class provides a general introduction to astronomy from the Biblical worldview (“creation astronomy”). The origin and age of the cosmos and the celestial bodies are discussed, and important evidence of fine-tuning is illustrated.

"Wonders of the Cell" - Chris Ashcraft (CAPS)

Cell biology has revealed a microscopic world operating at a level of technological sophistication far beyond anything devised by man. This previously invisible aspect of the creation offers unmistakable evidence of intelligent design through innumerable examples of irreducible and specified complexity. Inside each and every organism reside bio-mechanical systems and molecular machines that Darwin and his contemporaries could never have imagined. Even today, much of what is happening inside cells is still not understood and yet evolutionists hold fast that these remarkable constructs developed without God.

These two contrasting views of the cell provide a powerful illustration of how worldviews impact interpretations of physical evidence. This presentation discusses the cell as it relates to these opposing views and describes some of these important cellular features which offer testimony to the glory of the Creator.

"Planet of the Apes?" - Apologetics Symposium

Evolutionists argue that humans have descended from ape-like ancestors, thereby reducing humanity to the status of a primate animal. Darwin’s seminal theory led inexorably to this conclusion. However, the Bible clearly states that we were created distinct from the animals, and “in the image of God”.

This presentation examines the various “ape-men” used to support human evolution; including Neanderthals, Homo erectus, and Australopithecines. Were there really ape-men or is the infamous missing-link still missing?

The Apologetics Symposium takes place the 3rd Thursday each month at Cedar Park Church in Bothell WA. The programs feature presentations from educators and scientists who are dedicated to defending the Bible. They are free to attend, and also available for viewing through live webcast or the recordings archived on our website.

“Change and Your Church” Round Table Discussion

Church Doctor Ministries, an international coaching, consulting, and teaching ministry based in Corunna, Indiana, will be hosting a round table discussion for area pastors, ministry leaders, and interested church members.

Participants will learn and discuss: 1) Why the approach to change is programmed for conflict. 2) The spiritual issues behind change resistors. 3) The biblical role of leadership for meaningful change. 4) How to handle church bullies who hijack the church. 5) The good about tradition and bad about traditionalism. 6) The result of “feel good” worship.

This round table discussion will be facilitated by Tracee J. Swank and Kent R Hunter. Swank is Leader of Church Doctor Ministries, Certified Church Consultant and Christian Leadership Coach. Hunter, known as the “Church Doctor”, has consulted over 1,400 churches from 65 denominations, fellowships, and movements.

"Planet of the Apes?" - Apologetics Forum of SnoCo

Chris Ashcraft, a Christian educator and Creation scientist, will speak on the topic “Planet of the Apes?” A description of the lecture follows.

Secular Paleoanthropologists assert adamantly that humans are the descendants of ape-like ancestors. Darwin’s seminal theory led naturalists inexorably to this conclusion, but the Bible clearly states that we were created distinct from the animals and in the image of God.

This presentation examines the evidence used to support human evolution, including Neanderthals, Homo erectus, and Australopithecines. Are these ancient hominids really missing links capable of substantiating human evolution or has the truth been distorted to support the materialistic evolutionary worldview?

Chris Ashcraft is a Christian educator, creation scientist, and speaker employed as high school science teacher at Cedar Park Christian chools where he provides instruction in Biology, Chemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Life Science.
