Tulips or Snow?
3 1

I LOVE SNOW! Last fall, weather forecasts predicted a very cold winter and a HUGE snow storm. I could hardly wait! I raced to the store, stocked up on food, settled into my warm, cozy house and waited… and waited some more, but sadly no big snow that day or all winter.

Now, glimpses of spring are popping up all over my garden and I’m hoping it DOESN’T snow so my baby tulips won’t be damaged while waking from this gentle winter. Whether it’s tulips or snow that I’m hoping for, God is teaching me contentment; to enjoy each season I’m in instead of going overboard with planning for something in the distant future that may or may not happen.

So, instead of wishing for snow… again… I’ll smile when I walk along my sidewalk, see my baby tulips coming to life and remember God always gives me what I need when I need it!

What a blessing that was. Those were words of wisdom for me. It can be so hard to live in the moment and not worry for tomorrow or next month. Thank you so much for sharing just what I needed to hear. God is so good. :)
    Sincerely,

I too love the winter snow falling to the ground. Yet it is with anything that we need change. So as a new season begins, I too find that the Lord is working on me as well. Digging out the weeds that have grown throughout the winter, repotting me in different places, and none for too long either. I thought alot about what a plant must feel like when it is brought home from the store. I dig a hole and shake the little plant out, its little roots dangle and then I pop it in the cold dirt. It tries to snuggle into the earth, taking time to stretch and begin to grow. I like that plant find myself during trials of life, to feel this way too. Snuggled in the Lord's loving warm embrace is what gives me the strength to go on. Thank you for being who you are, a wonderful gift to all of us. Blessings, sandy

As much as I love snow I think I am ready for tulips. Saw some cherry blossoms today on my walk and they make me feel very happy.

  • Oh friends, I have something powerful to share with you today. Something that really impacted me recently. I heard Jill Briscoe from World Relief speak at If:Gathering 2017 a couple weeks ago and she spoke about how she struggles with fear. Anyone relate to that? So said her whole life she has struggled with this fear and she was sharing about a situation where she was pleading with God to not have to do something. But, she kept hearing his prompting. So, she took a step forward IN FEAR and after taking the step the courage came. AFTER she took the step. She was not filled with courage and THEN took the step. She had to step forward first.
