Your Life - PRAISE Updates

A Mother’s Love
3 1

This Sunday is Mother’s Day, a day set aside to say “Thanks!” for the bazillion things moms do for us. A one day celebration seems lacking considering all we should be thankful for!

Does your mom live nearby or are you separated by distance? Perhaps the most amazing thing about a mom is that even when she’s not close by, most of us ‘feel’ our mother’s love for us, as if she is right beside us.

For the last 16 years, my mother lived just down the street. I had the joy of spending time with her in her later years.  This year though, I won’t be buying her a gift. She went home to our Heavenly Father on New Year’s Eve.   But, I have to say, I can still feel her love in spite of the separation.  And that’s all it is, a short time of separation chalked full of sorrow and delightful memories. It is a time that will pass quicker than I think.

So, this weekend, will you celebrate your mom with all the gusto you have?  Let her know how much you appreciate her sacrifices for you. Don’t let the opportunity pass.  Time is marching on, join the parade!

Hi Jim: Appreciate your love & care of your Mom. Visited her a couple times as part of LCHC's Transitional Care Program. We agreed you were an outstanding son who loved her and wanted only the best for her. Blessings to you & yours. LO

    Hello Jim,
Thank you for the wonderful words. I so enjoyed your telephone calls on the air. Your mother was an inspiration to us all. Your relationship was also a wonderful reminder that we should make the time to say I love you more. Thank you for sharing your words of wisdom and for sharing your mother with us all. Blessings to you this weekend.

  • Local Hero #7 - Nahum Ip

He is my dad, and a paramedic. That already is kind of "behind the scenes" because no one really notices the paramedics, but the police and firefighters tend to get noticed more. While everyone is looking at the firefighters/police (not to put them down) paramedics are doing quite a bit more work and save lives on a daily basis. He has told us many stories of his job, and while he is with casualties, he uses that opportunity to tell them about Jesus. Throughout his work he has brought many people to Christ just by praying with them at the hospital and continuing to pray for them at home. He not only saves their earthly life, but aids in their spiritual life. Read More
