Your Life - PRAISE Updates

  • I usually don’t like empty things— an empty fuel tank, an empty milk carton or peanut jar and especially an empty stomach.  But there’s one empty thing that is wonderful and amazing--Jesus’ empty tomb!  That place of corruption and decay was emptied of death when He burst forth, alive! He emptied Himself of HIs deity so that we can be full of His Spirit, full of joy and have eternal life. Fullness in Christ and the true hope He offers is what we share every day at PRAISE!

  • As we look at what’s going on in our world, it can be pretty frightening! Uncertainty, wars, economic problems, political issues. It’s a mess! The great and wonderful thing is: God has promised never to leave us or forsake us! He will walk with us through the storms of life.

  • You know, when I’m in a room by myself talking into a microphone, I know it’s likely someone is listening, and I hope that the songs that we play and what is said may encourage someone. But, we never know for sure the impact of PRAISE… until we hear from you.

  • “You’re not the boss of me!” Has your child ever said those words or something similar to you? As parents, we don’t like hearing disrespect and defiance coming from a child. I was thinking… what is it like from God’s perspective when I want my way and not His? Am I saying “you’re not the boss of me?”

  • Typically, if someone were to ask me if I have a problem with pride, I would answer “no, I don’t think so”…until I listened to a message from Atlanta pastor Andy Stanley. He pulled back the curtain for me on what is one of the most destructive sins we, as humans, struggle with...

  • Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
  • May I remind you of four of the more powerful perils that can level even the mightiest? They are fortune, fame, power, and pleasure. Each works overtime to win a hearing, to gain a foothold, to woo us in. Whether subliminal, subtle, strong, or supreme, these messages search for chinks in our armour as they appeal to our natural appetites. "Get rich!" (fortune). "Become known!" (fame). "Gain control!" (power). "Be satisfied!" (pleasure). Each of these attractive snares invites our attention, holds out a juicy carrot, makes beautiful promises; yet each is an enemy always crouching and ready to plunge. Being masters of deceit, these messages employ one favourite method throughout our lives---temptation.
