Experience the legacy of the 1911 Mt. Baker Marathon and discover the "Ski to Sea" race held in Bellingham, Washington, USA every Memorial Day weekend. More than a race!
The Ski to Sea Festival includes a 93.5 mile relay Race of seven venues from Mount Baker to Bellingham Bay encompassing seven different sports. The Festival also includes a community block party with music and food, a Junior Ski to Sea Race, a historical hometown parade, and other special events that provide a wide variety of entertainment and adventure for all who participate.
7 Legs: cross-country ski, downhill ski or snowboard, running, road bike, canoe, mountain bike, and sea kayak. The finish line is at Marine Park.

Celebrate life on June 8th at the 24th annual Abbotsford Right to Life – WALK FOR LIFE
For over 30 years Abbotsford Right to Life has helped many women choose life for their children and has opened the eyes of countless people to the prcious of all human life from conception to natural death. Walk for Life is a fun and positive way to make a real difference in your community!
This Year's Project: Walkers will help us raise money for our new pregnancy centre opening in 2013.
New! REGISTER AND FUNDRAISE ONLINE! Visit www.walkforlife2013.ca to create your own fundraising page. Friends and family can sponsor you by making a tax receiptable donation (for donations of $10 or more) right on your individualized page.
- The walk begins at Mill Lake Park, Abbotsford
- Family fun activities including a Bouncy Castle and face painting starts at 12 noon. We invite you to come with your family and friends and bring a picnic lunch to enjoy together
- Registration starts at 1 pm and the walk begins at 1:30 pm

4K Fun Walk: Enjoy a fun Walk or Run around beautiful and scenic Mill Lake in Abbotsford. Perfect for strollers and wheelchairs.
8K Challenge Walk: Challenge yourself by walking or running 8km through the city centre of Abbotsford.
T-Shirts – Any walker raising $100+ in sponsorships will receive a free T-shirt! T-Shirts will also be available for sale at the Walk registration base for $10. Wear your pro-life T-shirt if you already have one.
The Route – Walkers can choose between the full 8km route or a 4km route beginning at Mill Lake Park. It is easy, level and wheelchair and stroller friendly and participants can either walk, run, roller-blade or cycle the route. Several water stations will be set up along the course and refreshments will be served upon completion of the walk. Route maps will be available at the registration base.
Make a difference for Life – Abbotsford Right to LIfe’s powerful public awareness campaigns have been saving lives for over 30 years. This year, your support will help us save even more lives as we expand our front line aid to women in crisis and open a pregnancy centre in Abbotsford.
Everyone can participate – either by walking or by sponsoring a walker! And, if June 8 doesn’t work for you, just do the Walk on another day that does!

Get ready to dig in. It's amazing how with a little imagination the beach at Birch Bay transforms in to a series of sand castles and sand sculptures. Each takes on its own life in the form of sea life, castles, cars, dragons, people, shipwreck and more. Great for businesses to get together with employees and build a "Business Sculpture". Have some fun and see what you might come up with! Spectators will find participant using sand, water and any other natural materials found at the beach to construct their castles and sculptures. This event is open to individuals, teams, families. There is no cost to participate and it proves to be a fun day on the beach! Come on out and let your imagination run wild on the beach.
Get ready to dig in. It's amazing how with a little imagination the beach at Birch Bay transforms in to a series of sand castles and sand sculptures. Be creative and build sand sculptures from geometric freeform's, sea turtles to alligators, mermaids to mythical castles, or your favorite pet. Celebrate the largest harvest of raspberries in North America here in Lynden, Washington! Mid-July is the peak time to get your share of Lynden's bountiful crop of red raspberries (approximately 2/3 of the nation's total production) while enjoying the summer sunshine and a variety of family-friendly activities at our annual downtown celebration, attracting nearly 20,000 visitors last year!
The festivities kick off on Friday (July 19) with kids' games in downtown Lynden (inflatable obstacle course, a climbing wall, face painting, sand art & the YMCA "Rookies" 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament) & enjoy live jazz concerts. Dine on luscious raspberry & ice cream sundaes for only $1, as well as smoothies, shakes, pies, & more made from local products, or purchase a flat of raspberries, picked fresh daily from nearby farms, to take home! Shop at Lynden's downtown merchants and street vendors at the "Berry Fair" Street Market, and don't forget to cheer on your favorite team at the 14th annual Curt Maberry Memorial Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament (presented by Muljat Group North)!

NW Washington Fair is coming to Lynden!
August 12 - 17, 2013
For over 100 years the Northwest Washington Fair has highlighted the agriculture of the Whatcom County area. Dairy and beef cattle, horses, and many other species of livestock are shown by 4H, FFA and Open Class exhibitors. There are hundreds of exhibits featuring baked goods, canning, flowers and fresh produce grown locally.
Visit the Small Animal Experience in the Henry Jansen Ag Center to see this exhibit featuring young or miniature animals.The Agriculture Adventure Center, located on the grassy area north of the Grandstand, highlights Whatcom County agriculture with tractor exhibits, the Farming for Life exhibit, and you can even milk "Twister" the cow! The Maternity Ward in the Dairy Barn features cows about to give birth. Be sure to come and see the newborn calves. All three displays will delight young and old.
