Whatcom Farm Tour Weekend is coming Saturday, Sept 8th and Sunday, Sept 9th.
Eat, drink, tour, relax and taste your way through Whatcom’s beautiful farmland.
A premier event of September Eat Local Month, the Farm Tour highlights 8-10 diverse family-owned farms and provides exciting educational activities at each of the tour stops.
It will be a weekend full of culinary adventures. Along with the farm tour, there will be a kickoff brunch Saturday morning, a farm-to-pint event Saturday evening and a wine, cheese and chocolate pairing Sunday afternoon to round out the weekend.
Tour-goers can meet local farmers, learn about what it takes to grow local food, enjoy hayrides, taste farm veggies and products, meet farm animals, sample wine, and shop for some of the highest quality foods in the state. Visitors are encouraged to bring cash for farm products, and a cooler to keep purchased foods fresh throughout the day. Tour-goers can also bike to the farms, but are asked to keep dogs at home.
The self-guided tour is free, but attendees can purchase a $10 Farm Tour VIP Badge to support the Sustainable Connections Food & Farming Program and receive valuable coupons and discounts on farm products at every stop. VIP Badges can be purchased on the day of the Farm Tour at any of the stops.
