Military Hero: Jacob Hittinger
Nominated by: Jessica Alsum
I’m nominating my brother-in-law, Jacob, who is one of the most amazing people I know. Not only has he served in the Navy, but it took him time to go back to school to become a Pilot, and is now re-listing with the Air Force. At his very core he is such a man of honor and integrity, and everything he does is with a humble servants heart. He never complains and he is always looking for ways to help out, whether it’s just offering an encouraging word, opening a door, or volunteering his time to help out other families with Active Valor sponsoring other young youth… He is always giving and giving. Recently we got to be a part of being present for him re-signing into the service. He takes his call to serve and protect our freedom truly to heart, and even though he will miss out on memories and time with loved ones, he knows he’s serving for a higher calling.
Jacob was often called in the middle of the night to go on missions while in the navy and without fear or hesitation he would go with a cheerful heart. Jacob is such a fun and loving father to his two little boys, constantly playing and teaching them how to be leaders and gentlemen. I’m really sad that we won’t get to see him as often as we’d like to but I know he is faithfully serving where God has planted him. It has been an honor watching him glorify God in the Navy and now onto his new service in the Air Force as an officer and pilot.
We are grateful for you, Jacob!
