  • I knew Tom and beloved wife Darlin through the North Langley Community church. I was going through a difficult time and decided to go to church one Sunday morning.. The church set me up with small group of praying every Thursday. One night this wonderful man called me, introducing himself and right away he said, "may we pray?"

  • He is my dad, and a paramedic. That already is kind of "behind the scenes" because no one really notices the paramedics, but the police and firefighters tend to get noticed more. While everyone is looking at the firefighters/police (not to put them down) paramedics are doing quite a bit more work and save lives on a daily basis. He has told us many stories of his job, and while he is with casualties, he uses that opportunity to tell them about Jesus. Throughout his work he has brought many people to Christ just by praying with them at the hospital and continuing to pray for them at home. He not only saves their earthly life, but aids in their spiritual life.

  • Sue is our neighbor and has been a God-send to our family. She has done so many things over the years to support our family, investing countless hours into helping out with our young boys without ever being asked. • Reverend Allen Tysick is well known in Victoria as an advocate and a dedicated worker for the cause of the homeless, the addict and all dysfuncional residents here.
I moved to Victoria a little over eleven years ago and he was up and about most every morning by 5:00 AM cruising the doorways and dark corners distributing coffee, day old doughnuts, whatever food he could get donated, socks and blankets when he could. He's still at it in his Dandelion Society van and I often see him at 4:00 AM when I start my taxi shift.
He's prayed with his flock and helped them find housing, social services and admittance to rehabs.Too much more to mention about how he is an inspirational example to us all.
You'll find that his name is a house hold word at such places as Victoria City Hall, downtown churches such as St. John the Divine and St. Andrew's Catholic Cathedral (who both contribute to the plight of the needy - although St. Andrew's soup kitchen - run by the Knights of Columbus.

  • Randy is a quiet hero who chooses not acclimation. His forgiveness for me goes DEEPER than I can even say. He has been my shield & staff, selflessly joining me daily in fighting for what's good & fair & right in dealing with a family trust, not only to support me, but to work towards giving more to others in the family in need. Compassionate for me as I grieve the loss of my mom, dad and brother in the last 10 months.
