I’m not sure I can adequately express all the emotions going through my mind in light of so many things taking place in the world. Whether you find yourself uncertain about the political climate, racial tensions, or worrying about the coronavirus, there are many things that can grip our hearts and minds. I can tell you one thing I feel very clearly – FEAR. However, I also know that God does not give us fear – fear is not from the Lord. Fear is the enemy twisting things to his design, clouding our minds and judgement.
I don’t believe we can heal this land without the powerful, inspiring words of Jesus. Walking forward in fear will only create more fear. Here are 33 verses about fear and anxiety that will help us focus our minds on Him as we look to Jesus to lead us forward.
1. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
2. “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3
3. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
