Strength While Fighting Leukemia
As I went through having Leukemia, you always seemed to play the right songs just when I needed it most. Three songs really stood out:
- As I was driving to the Dr. to get the cancer diagnosis, you played Ryan Stevenson song “The Eye of the Storm.” God is my anchor in the middle of the storm!
- You also played “Old Church Choir” by Zach Williams. I love the part where he says There ain’t nothin’ gonna steal my joy!! Why? Because my salvation/joy is solidly found in the finished work of Christ not in my circumstances or my health!
- Then there was the song by Mercy Me “Even If.” My hope is in Him no matter what. He could take it all away if He want to. Well, God delivered me and I have been cancer free for 2.5 years. On the day I went for my first 10% test dose treatment, my count was 77,000. The very next morning my count had already dropped to 1,200 which is normal and has remained normal ever since!
God took care of everything!!! I worshiped God and sang, at the top of my lungs, during my struggle through cancer with these songs over and over. God is so good!
Breaking an Addiction to Meth
I was addicted to Meth for about 15 years, but finally went to rehab and got clean and I’ve been clean for about 7 years now. I listen to PRAISE every day and you have been a major part of my recovery and ability to stay clean. PRAISE has basically helped to save my life.
My Parents Taught Me How to Give
When my parents first moved to Canada over 20 years ago, money quickly became tight. I distinctly remember when we were on to our last bit of savings a PRAISE 106.5 giving campaign came on the radio. My parents were moved by the Holy Spirit to donate a large sum during this financially difficult time. This act of generosity never left me. I recently started making PRAISE 106.5 part of my morning commute and was surprised when the Spring giving campaign came on the air. As soon as I heard it, the image of my parents calling in to give came to my mind and it opened up my heart to do the same. I want to encourage anyone who has been on the fence to give, that their generosity can have a deep impact that can span generations. I am witness to the generosity of my parents who have been blessed by PRAISE 106.5 and I hope to be that same example of Godly generosity for my future children.
