Do you have cats, dogs, both, or neither? Is your situation the same as what Brant is describing, or is there actual hope in breaking the cat-attitude stereotype?

Hi Brant and Sherry. I love listening to you, y’all crack me up. I have both cats and a dog as well as chickens. I have to say my kitty, Quincy breaks the typical cat sterotype in some ways, not so much it others. First off, I do think he love me 🙂 and I think he believes he may be a dog…. He runs the house! The dog will not cross his path unless I block or remove Quincy, he is known to ambush the dog on occasion. He’s very cuddly, he often snuggles up with me in bed, like a stuffed toy to a child, and then there are those moments he feels the need to lay on my head. I can pick him up and carry him around like a rag doll and he doesn’t seem to mind. If I go down stairs and out to the garage, I can sit him on the banister and he’ll wait there for me to come back. He will quickly sneak into any open door and gets into everything, potato chips, tortillas, bread, etc. Food cannot be left on the counter, not even packaged food. He is a beautiful orange kitty who often reminds me of Garfield, particularly whan he ate the cheese out of my pan on lasagna, when I left it on the counter to cool. He definitely keeps things interesting and I wouldn’t trade him for the world, or the best well mannered Persian cat.
