Is Anything Too Small for God?

When we consider the immensity of God—the Creator of the Universe—we might be tempted to think that He couldn’t possibly be bothered with the little things. But that is far from true! In fact, it is precisely the awesome nature of God that gives Him the capacity to pay intimate attention to the smallest of details and take care of them.

God is so awesome that He created wildflowers on the side of a hill that no one even sees—just so He could enjoy them. He made butterflies with detailed designs and instinctive flight patterns, and snowflakes that are each unique. Even identical human twins who share nearly the same DNA still develop separate and individual characteristics.

Why does God care so much about these details? He is a master craftsman and artist, and It’s obviously a joy for Him to create! He is so awesome that He can make everything and everyone a one-of-a-kind. There is no mass production with God! And there is no skimping on design details.

Jesus spoke about God’s careful attention to detail and His intimate love for each of us in Matthew 10:29-31 …

What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.  So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

God cares about every single detail of your life. Never doubt that. It is His infinite scope that makes this possible. His attention to all the things you think are ‘little’ cannot take away from His care of everything else in the world. When you bring every small and big concern to the Lord, you are showing your trust in Him and that pleases our Awesome God.

Consider This: Look at a flower in your garden and notice the details. Appreciate the way God made each flower unique for your enjoyment! Thank Him for the beauty of His world.
