As you read this my wife and I are either anxiously awaiting, or, are absolutely ecstatic at the arrival of our 4th Grandchild!
This one is different though. It’s the first from our younger son and his wife AND this one is a girl! We have 3 grandsons, but what really makes this special is we haven’t had a girl in my line in 88 years. There have been many Mrs. Bouma’s but no, Miss Bouma, in a long time.
As you can imagine, my wife is super excited to have a girl in the family as she didn’t have a daughter of her own. For me, I’m trying figure out how this is going work. I’ve got the boy thing down. Two of my own and three grandsons have given me lots of practice.
But, a girl.
I’m sure it will be great! Just different. As I look into her future and the direction this world is going, I can’t help but worry about how she will manage. But, I imagine my grandfather may have thought the same about me? I do know from my own experience and more importantly from God’s word that God has a plan for her and if she seeks Him as her mom and dad do, she will be able to face whatever comes her way in victory!
Excited and content it’s a marvelous place to be.
P.S. Any tips for having a girl??
