Here is the thing about stress, it affects all of us. In fact, 80-90% of illness is associated with stress. That is crazy. Why are we doing this to ourselves? While there could be a variety of answers to this question, Northwest Hot Springs has put together a great list of ways you can naturally reduce your stress. Which one are you going to try first?
Read scripture & Pray – take a moment each day to meditate on the Word of God. Breathe in. Breathe out. And pray for the Lord to guide your steps. WebMD says that daily meditation can make you more resilient to stress. Here is what they recommend “It’s simple. Sit up straight with both feet on the floor. Close your eyes. Focus your attention on reciting — out loud or silently a positive phrase. Place one hand on your belly to sync the mantra with your breaths. Let any distracting thoughts float by like clouds.” We’d suggest reciting a Bible verse as your positive phrase.
Hut Tubs! Soak in the water and watch your cares melt away. Watch our great video on the magic of water. During fair season get a better than fair price during their summer clearance event.
Slow down. Easier said than done maybe but don’t overextend yourself. Prioritize and cross those things off the list you really don’t need.
Surround yourself with friends who can help. Reach out on social media, face to face, meet for coffee. It helps to get another perspective sometimes.
Heat pads or warm heat wraps on the shoulders for 10 minutes can help ease tension.
LAUGH. Get a joke book. Keep it at your desk. Bust out your favorite knock knock jokes to ease some tension.
Listen to some tunes. Put on a soothing ocean melody or keep your radio dial to PRAISE 106.5 and be encouraged. Belt out those worship tunes or relax and close your eyes to the nature sounds.
Be Grateful. Focus on the positive rather than the negative.
Lavender is a great stress reliever. Get some essential oils or burn a candle that can calm the nerves.
Eat stress relieving foods like: Spinach, Organic Turkey Breast, Fermented Foods, Alaska Salmon, Blueberries, pistachios, Dark Chocolate.
