This Sunday is Mother’s Day, a day set aside to say “Thanks!” for the bazillion things moms do for us. A one day celebration seems lacking considering all we should be thankful for!
Does your mom live nearby or are you separated by distance? Perhaps the most amazing thing about a mom is that even when she’s not close by, most of us ‘feel’ our mother’s love for us, as if she is right beside us.
For the last 16 years, my mother lived just down the street. I had the joy of spending time with her in her later years. This year though, I won’t be buying her a gift. She went home to our Heavenly Father on New Year’s Eve. But, I have to say, I can still feel her love in spite of the separation. And that’s all it is, a short time of separation chalked full of sorrow and delightful memories. It is a time that will pass quicker than I think.
So, this weekend, will you celebrate your mom with all the gusto you have? Let her know how much you appreciate her sacrifices for you. Don’t let the opportunity pass. Time is marching on, join the parade!
