Life never goes quite the way we want it to. When the economy crashed awhile back and the housing market was in a mess my husband and I were stuck in a housing community that was full of foreclosures, rising homeowner’s dues and legal battles with the developers. We couldn’t financially keep our townhome and were forced to sell.
I remember distinctly when we moved in I felt God say, “Do you believe I will take care of you?” I did. But, I thought He meant stability and abundant provision.
Since selling, we’ve been renting and along the way God has been giving us little breadcrumbs that say, “I am taking care of you.” Here’s one.
I have always dreamed of growing fruit trees in my yard. It’s hard to plant a fruit tree when you are in a rental so I’ve just tucked the thought in my heart in the hopes that someday we will have our own place again. As spring came and as we watched things bloom in our new yard this summer (We just moved in to our new house this past winter) we see that the house we are currently in has a pear tree, plumb tree and apple trees. They are all growing fruit. Sometimes I stand looking at them in awe that God would care about that. That he would bring us to a place that would fulfill this tiny desire in my heart.
This journey has been longer than I expected. But, this simple reminder of God’s provision gives me joy in the waiting.
Friends, I want to speak to your heart if you are struggling to see God’s plan. If you feel like it’s bumpier than you thought it would be, a windier road or much more traumatic than you’d like, God sees you, hears you, loves you. He is in the little details. Look for him. Trust in him. And, even though the journey may be longer or different than you expect, have faith. God will reveal breadcrumbs to you if you are open to seeing them.
We hope you’ve found us on Facebook for more fun and encouragement. We love hearing from you. Here are the top 5 posts of this week.
