Friends, have you called on Jesus lately? I’m guessing you are a lot like me where you kinda think about it a lot or maybe pray sometimes, you get some Bible reading in, some encouraging books, but do you really call on Jesus?
I read this verse a lot, it’s one of my life verses. It goes like this:
Jeremiah 29:11-13
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Sounds familiar I bet, right? But, you know, sometimes I forget about verses 12 & 13. It’s not just about verse 11. He has a plan and it’s a good plan. So…THEN <insert action>. We have to take action, call on Jesus, pray to him and he will listen. We need to SEEK HIM. It’s not just about resting in the hope that God has a plan, it is about taking a step toward actively engaging with Jesus to discover those plans, to walk in those plans, to be in his will.
This is a powerful reminder to me, and hopefully to you as well, that our relationship with Christ is active – it requires not only action on the part of Christ but action from our end as well. Are you ready to take action? Are you ready to SEEK HIM?
