I HATE WAITING! I bet you’ve experienced having to wait for something, whether it is an exciting event in your life like a new baby or a wedding. Maybe it’s waiting for a teenager to text and let you know they are ok or waiting for that phone call from the doctor. Waiting can be sooo difficult filled with pain and frustration.
So, I’ve been waiting (mostly patiently) or my husband’s immigration paperwork to go through. We were married 22 months ago…and have been waiting 22 months for the process to finalize and for my husband to immigrate to the U.S. so we can live together in the same country as husband and wife.
Now that we are in the final steps of this process, I find myself getting very anxious. I continue to remind myself that good things come to those who wait. My wonderful friends and family affirm me by reminding me that, “Patience is a virtue” (insert eyeroll here!) Enough already. I just want to come home to my husband after work. I want him to help him deal with the hard house chores and I would LOVE to watch him fall asleep EVERY night beside me. Okay, rant over. Maybe I’m not waiting so patiently after all?
It’s times like this I try to take my thoughts captive and remind myself of my favorite verse in the Bible. It is the verse that says to trust in “Him” and He will renew my strength. On those days I often wonder…will this EVER come to be? I thought I would share that verse with you if you are frustrated and stuck in that “waiting room” too. Don’t give up hope.
“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary.” Isaiah 42:10
Still working on this virtue with a happy heart,
-Lynette
