A Message from World Concern –
It’s being called the worst storm in history. Super Typhoon Haiyan slammed into the Philippines early this morning as the most powerful typhoon or hurricane in recorded history. The storm packed wind gusts of 235 mph, and only intensified as it made landfall.
Thousands of people were evacuated from the central Philippines, which was devastated by an earthquake last month. About 10 million people live directly in the storm’s path.
After tearing through the Philippines, the typhoon is expected to strike Vietnam and Laos over the weekend.
World Concern and our partners are preparing to respond to rescue families devastated by this storm. We need your help to provide:
- Food
- Medicine
- Safe drinking water
- Shelter
Please donate now to help rescue families impacted by disaster. And please join me in praying for the safety of these families.
Thank you,
Jacinta Tegman
