It’s hard sometimes in the waiting to watch other people get miracles, isn’t it? It’s easy to look at the person next to you who just got what you wanted and think you’ve been left out, that your prayer wasn’t heard or doesn’t matter.
Today, the following verse smacked me across the head:
[ Praise to the God of All Comfort ] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV
Oh, shoot. Did you catch that? Read it again.
What you are going through might not be for you.
It reminds me of the story of my friend, Laurie and how God used her during her cancer journey.
I think sometimes God wants us to stop focusing on ourselves for a minute so we don’t miss the bigger picture of what can be accomplished. How are we serving others? How does our grief, loss, struggle give us the ability to serve someone we wouldn’t have been able to serve otherwise? Perspective.
Today, I challenge you to pray the following to God:
Lord, I still want my miracle. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t. I also know you are good. I know that through my struggle and waiting a bigger blessing may be accomplished. Will you reveal it to me? Lord, will you use me? I’m ready! Amen.
