If you’ve ever imagined God scrambling in heaven—calling an emergency meeting, angels rushing around with clipboards, everyone trying to figure out what to do about your latest crisis—it’s a funny picture, but it couldn’t be further from reality. God is never surprised, never caught off guard, never muttering,
“Well… I didn’t see that coming.”
Instead, Scripture paints a completely different image: God is steady, unshaken, joyful, and at peace. While we may feel overwhelmed, He never is. And that’s exactly why He becomes the safest place to run to when life feels anything but calm. When everything in us wants to panic, He invites us into the peace that comes from knowing the One who is never rattled by what rattles us.
