Was that it’s to say it can’t be about works. It can’t be about you. Right.
Brant:
Right.
Sherri:
Because this guy can do nothing on the cross. There’s nothing he can do but believe and humble himself.
Brant:
This is such great news if you’re humble. If you’re not, if you actually think that “I’m a pretty good person, I’m pretty religious, I do a lot of good things, Jesus has to recognize that God has to recognize what I’ve done”, then it’s not good news. Then it’s frustrating. “Wait a second, I did all this stuff”… but that’s never what he was after, was it? He was after your heart. And this man on the cross gave God what God wanted. Humility and his heart. That’s what He has always wanted.
